ABSTRACT
In this chapter, the reader is introduced to the idea that the language that clinical professionals and educators use around sexuality has a profound effect on everyday practice. The chapter probes concepts such as “risk” and “expertise” and examines their real-world implications. The chapter concludes with a case study of an autistic man brought in as a consultant for a nonprofit organization.
