The quality of a professional private investigator ultimately depends upon the willingness of the practitioner to observe special standards of conduct and to manifest good faith in professional relationships. According to Timothy J. Walsh and Richard J. Healy, noted security professionals and authors of the Protection of Assets Manual, professionalism is “highly competent performance in a field requiring special knowledge and skills.”
