ABSTRACT
Good therapeutic planning is essential for a successful surgery. All of the patient’s physical, psychological, and personal
data should be analyzed. Before deciding to proceed with surgery, the patient
should take the time to reect on ve questions in a specic order; the answers to which shall be based on listening, examination, and preoperative consultations that shall occur as often as required by the complexity of the case both from a psychological and physical point of view
Understanding who is sitting in front of me, do I know my patient (it is essential to devote sufcient listening time)? I personally cannot make a surgical decision if I do not know who my patient is.
