ABSTRACT

Over the past 15 years, the field of quantitative MRI has continued to grow, also thanks to the technological advances that took place. Higher magnetic fields, stronger gradients and faster acquisition sequences have made it possible to achieve more reliable measures. The future looks bright, and we expect this trend to continue, with the consolidation of new imaging biomarkers based on multi-modal approaches, and of novel approaches to manage increasingly complex data sets. This chapter reviews the latest trends in quantitative MRI with an eye to the near future.
