ABSTRACT

Each year the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) analyzes market foods. Data from 2006 through 2011 were combined to calculate the mean arsenic concentration from selected vegetables (giving equal weight to each kind of vegetable) of 0.0097 mg/kg wet wt. (upper bound) and 0.00081 mg/ kg wet wt. (lower bound). Variation in concentration among kinds of vegetables could not be discerned due to the high proportion of nondetects.
