ABSTRACT

Again at the beginning of this scene, we see Proteus navigating with the blood flow before steering towards the right artery at another vessel bifurcation prior to proceeding through more bifurcations. Magnetic resonance navigation (MRN), as described in the preceding chapter, is the main technique used to navigate such a microscopic submarine along a preplanned path in the arterial network. But to control the displacement of the submarine, we do not steer it using a joystick operated by a human, as the movie suggests, but rather navigate in autopilot mode, as mentioned earlier in this book.
