ABSTRACT

In 1957, ie after fifty years, the Society was still flourishing, and its original pattern of events was to remain (more or less) until the unfortunate disposal of its focal point – Manson House – in 2004. This was a clinically-based Society and its raison d’être was to learn about and discuss problems of diseases prevalent in the tropics, in London – the heart of Empire – at various location(s) situated in the ‘medical quarter’ of London.
