ABSTRACT

This chapter presents the hydraulic representation of the physical model, removal rate constants using plug and mixed flow models, and gives a brief description for the neural networks types and the training algorithms methods. The stochastic package for social science (SPSS) software is utilized to deduce a set of linear and nonlinear regression equations to represent the experimental data. The chapter presents the preparation of the experimental data for set up and steady stages and the methods used to increase the number of patterns that used in the artificial neural networks (ANNs) and SPSS models. Two systems for modeling the input experimental data to estimate the effluent pollutant concentration will be followed in the chapter. The first one is the ANNs and the second system is the statistical analysis using SPSS software. The SPSS program is among the most widely used program for statistical analysis in social science. It is used to find the relationship between input and output variables.
