ABSTRACT

Exact nonlinear dust kinetic Alfvén waves are investigated in collisionless, low but finite β plasma, whose constituents are negatively charged dust 160grains and non-extensive ions. It is found that the non-extensive dust-ion plasma model considered here supports only sub-AlfVénic compressive solitary dust KAWs and double layers. Owing to ions’ non-extensivity, solitary dust KAWs may undergo amplitude fluctuations before they transform in to double layers. The implication of our results to Saturn’s rings is pointed out.
