ABSTRACT

In this study, polyaniline-Co3O4 nanocomposite with different contents of Co3O4 nanoparticles (1, 2.5, 5 wt%) were prepared by in situ chemical polymerization of aniline using ammonium persulfate as an oxidizing agent. Optical, electrical properties and morphological of the products were characterized by FTIR spectroscopy, X-Ray diffraction (XRD), electron microscopy (SEM), UV-vis spectroscopy and electrical conductivity measurements. UV-Vis and FT-IR spectra and X-Ray diffraction which offered the information about the chemical structure of the PANi and PANi-Co3O4 nanocomposite. The SEM images of the nanocomposites showed uniform distribution of Co3O4 nanoparticles in PANi matrix. Electrical conductivity measurements of PANi-Co3O4 nanocomposites revealed that the conductivity of PANi increased with increasing content of Co3O4 nanoparticles.
