ABSTRACT

In this chapter, copper (Cu) and zinc (Zn) phthalocianines was synthesized in nitrobenzene solution at a temperature of 200°C to 300°C. Firstly, Cu and

Zn salts-acetates were subject to dehydratation and then were purified by recrystallization from mixture of nitrobenzene and methanol. On the basis of the synthesized (Cu, Zn) Pc powders were obtained thin films by spin coating and thermal evaporation in high vacuum. The poliepoxipropil carbazole (PEPC) was used to improve the photoconductivity of the (Cu, Zn)Pc thin films. Annealing is a common method to improve the physical properties of thin films. We investigated the morphology and optical properties of (Cu, Zn) Pc thin films before and after thermal annealing using scanning electron microscope (SEM) and UV-Vis spectroscopy.Current–voltage characteristics demonstrated the formation of the ITO/CuPc hetero junctions.
