ABSTRACT

The time to climb is a climb performance analysis criterion. For a transport aircraft, the time to climb is an economical issue, while for a fighter aircraft in a fight mission, it means win or loss. Aircraft performance problems are basically grouped into two categories: point performance and mission performance. In the point performance problem, all aircraft parameters and flight conditions such as aircraft weight and altitude are fixed. In the mission performance, the time is a new parameter during which several aircraft parameters and flight conditions vary. The asymptote indicates that the aircraft has reached the absolute ceiling. The figures demonstrate that the aircraft loses about 3000 m during this zero-gravity flight.
