ABSTRACT

The Internet is a global interconnected electronic communication network that uses Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) to link billions of networks of organizations and individuals worldwide together via a broad array of wired and wireless networking technologies. It is a massive network on a global scale, consisting of smaller networks of millions of private, public, academic, business, and government networks. Through the Internet, various formats of information are exchanged and services are provided. These include online banking, publishing, ordering, reporting, dispatching, routing, tracking, advertising, video and audio streaming, gaming, social networking, cloud computing, and remote data storage, using the World Wide Web (WWW), electronic mail (e-mail), instant messaging, File Transfer Protocol (FTP), Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), and many other systems and applications.
