ABSTRACT

This chapter shows that sometimes problems and their solutions cannot be ensured or controlled. Sometimes problems of the nature occur and there are no satisfactory means of ensuring that they can be eliminated or prevented from happening again. Users of a product are less controllable than employees as there are no specific controls that can be applied to assure product use compliance. Adequate warning signs and instructions must be applied to help prevent recurrence. The vehicle instruction manual specifically had warning and labels that fuses of the proper size and rating were to be used. The condition is not much different from insisting on a specified and unswerving work approach to avoid innovations and shortcuts that affect quality and safety. Warning labels and safety requirements must be of sufficient size and be located in areas that cannot be misinterpreted. These requirements are necessary not only in the consumer marketplace but also in manufacturing locations.
