ABSTRACT
Lipids and their component fatty acids are becoming important tools in trophic ecology. In this chapter, we will review their structure and function and explore various statistical tools for analyzing them. Lipids also are critical for the function of ecosystems, and the quantity of some essential fatty acids may well limit trophic interactions.
