ABSTRACT

On reaching a decision to execute an innovation project, a different process is required to guide the implementation. If not yet decided, identify the type of innovation best suited for the project. Each type of innovation has its own version of the N2OVATE™ process, demonstrating its agility and effectiveness. For the medical tourism (MT) case study presented in this book, a “new application” approach would work best (see McLaughlin and Kennedy, 2016, for further clarification on “new” types of innovation). New applications are unique offerings that did not exist previously in the setting proposed. That is, the emphasis on five-star rehabilitative services is a new type of innovation not previously existing in the emirate of Dubai. It is a new application on an existing process, product, or service. It is also innovative in that it serves an unsatisfied need, provides a benefit, and presents a competitive advantage.
