ABSTRACT

Thus, any effect on the polymer results in a change of its interfacial surface area. This change takes place by the diffusion of the material from the bulk to the surface (the development of the interfacial surface) or vice versa, from the surface into the bulk (healing of the interfacial surface). Although the process of the development of the interfacial surface upon polymer deformation has not been studied, the reverse process – healing of the interfacial surface in the polymers – has been the subject of various investigations. We will investigate in greater detail the most general relationships governing the process of healing the surface in the polymer systems.
