ABSTRACT
Bacteria appeared on planet Earth long before plants, birds, water-or land-based animals, and human beings, and they have exerted harmful or benecial effects on these hosts ever since. Bacteria are present everywhere in the environment, ranging from the surface of living beings and dead material to the rhizosphere, and are involved in various kinds of activities.
