ABSTRACT

The authors believe that nanotechnology is the second coming of the industrial revolution. It promises to make the nation that seizes the nanotechnology initiative the technology capital of the world. One of the main obstacles to achieving this goal will be to control, reduce, and ultimately eliminate any environmental and environmental-related problems associated with this technology. Unfortunately, the success or failure of this new industrial paradigm may well depend on the ability to effectively and efciently address these environmental issues (Theodore and Theodore 2010).
