Information and Communication Technology Support for Stroke Care: The Relevance Dilemma

Each year, about 45,000 people in the Netherlands experience a stroke, of which approximately 9,000 people do not survive. The incidence of transient ischemic attacks is estimated at 29,000 people a year. This resulted in approximately 226,000 people suffering from stroke in 2007 in the Netherlands (Nationaal Kompas Volksgezondheid).
