ABSTRACT

The process performance is improved through the four methods: Prioritization through the cause-and-effect matrix; Business process improvement and Kaizen; Plan–do–check–act; and Theory of constraints. The theory of constraints, created by Dr. Eliyahu Goldratt, is based on the assumption that every system has at least one constraint limiting it from getting more of what it strives for. The theory of constraints is both descriptive and prescriptive in nature; it not only describes why system constraints happen, but also offers guidance on what to do about them. A constraint is anything that limits an organization from moving toward its goal. A constraint can be physical and internal or nonphysical and external.
