Application of nanoscience and nanotechnology in medicine is projected to revolutionize the practice of medicine in near future. It has evolved into a new area of research and development designated as nanomedicine. However, these nano-enabled systems need better characterization of end point for their therapeutic efcacy and safety. Regulatory research for in vitro and in vivo toxicity testing as well as novel methods for assessment of multifunctional nanosystems is of critical importance for evaluation of safety of different therapeutic application of nanomaterials.
