ABSTRACT

The foregoing chapters have provided a basis for understanding the plant communities, flora, and fauna of the region. This chapter first consolidates ecological interrelationships involving succession and food webs, widely scattered through the book, into one place. Second, the hydrological and ecological modeling used in Everglades restoration is reviewed. The goal is to understand how models are used to provide projections of what will happen in the future based on proposed actions-the quantitative guidance for restoration.
