ABSTRACT

Information surrounds us. It permeates our lives. Meetings, memos, telephone calls, gossip, journals, books, web browsing, email, text messages, instant messages, spell checkers, and on and on. It was reported that the average worker receives 11,680 emails per year [1]. Unfortunately, I get much more than that. Sometimes, the goal of information management is to keep it away from us before we become overwhelmed. Nevertheless, information is a valuable resource, and we have to use it efficiently and effectively. In terms of the roles of a manager (planning, organizing, directing, making decisions, and controlling), managers use information as one of their planning tools: they organize information into usable items, they make important decisions based on the information they have, and they direct projects and obtain feedback based on the continuous flow of information.
