ABSTRACT

Think about the first immaculate piece of technology you worked with. Shortly after, were there very similar pieces of that same technology, but maybe even a little bit better? How did that happen? Utilizing best-in-class (BIC) practices, better and better items are made. A person takes the BIC material, determines exactly how to produce it, and then essentially makes it better. If the first BIC product is not replicated, there would be a monopoly of companies being the only company in the business making that particular product. Each company now takes the BIC products and continuously improves them in order to stay competitive in the marketplace. If each company does not continuously improve or is not innovative, the competition will take the business and the customers will follow quickly.
