ABSTRACT

In the past three decades, concerns related to the environment, human health risks, and interests in resource recycling and sustainability have propelled the resurgence of research on bio-based adhesives, especially those based on agricultural and forest products and byproducts. This concluding chapter showcases the progress on the developments and utilization of bio-based wood adhesives reported in the individual chapters, and also several latest reports not covered by these chapters. These advances have paved the paths for enhanced utilization of agricultural and forest products and byproducts for global sustainability and a greener environment. We also discuss several emerging topics that are worth future exploration by bio-based adhesive researchers.
