In modern societies, the risk of explosive incidents is signicant. Beyond military applications, numerous businesses manufacture, transport, and use low and high explosives in daily operations (i.e., mining and demolition). In addition, explosives continue to be the weapon of choice for terrorists worldwide-of all the weapons of mass destruction (WMDs) (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, explosive) reportedly used, the most commonly used, by far, are explosive devices.
