ABSTRACT

The use of smart devices in the corporate environment has expe rienced tremendous growth in this decade. These devices can be a great business tool for an organization; they allow users to instantly access information, conduct research, and communicate with others, increasing the speed of productivity. Smart devices are just as com mon as desktops or laptops for Internet access. It is extremely likely that employees will have their own smart device and bring it to your environment every day. The burden will be placed on the organiza tion’s information technology (IT) department to provide technical support and thought leadership on proper usage. This creates huge problems for the organization; smart devices can expose a corporate network to a larger number of new threats.
