ABSTRACT

The increase in user participation and the rich data collection associated with it are beneficial for mobile crowdsensing systems. However, sensitive participant information may be revealed in this process, such the daily routines, social context, or location information. This raises privacy concerns, and depending on the severity of the collected sensitive information, participants may refuse to engage in sensing activities — a serious problem for mobile crowdsensing systems. This chapter discusses potential solutions to the privacy issues introduced by mobile crowdsensing platforms.
