ABSTRACT
A project is a series of related activities with the purpose of providing a service or building a product. A project is characterized by a definite start date and an end date. A project consumes resources such as materials, time, and manpower. For example, a civil engineering project may require machines to construct a building. A civil engineering project will also need skilled people to plan and execute different tasks. A civil engineering project manager is deployed to plan and manage the project. The same is true with software projects. A software project needs skilled people to design and construct the software product. To manage a software project, a project manager may be deployed. The project manager will be responsible for managing all the activities related to the project.
