ABSTRACT
Drug and excipient interactions with polymeric lm-forming agents inuence the properties, functionality, and permeability of the applied lm. Interactions can take place in the solid state at the substrate and polymer lm interface, during preparation of a coating solution, or during dissolution. Some drug-polymer and excipient-polymer interactions are important in the polymeric lmformation process, and other interactions have deleterious effects on the functionality of the lm.
