ABSTRACT

In the preceding chapters, homicide and homicide offenders are explored by the principle type of each situ-ation and perpetrator. Although it may seem to imply that such typologies are distinctive and nonoverlapping, in many, if not most, cases this is not the norm. For example, a domestic murderer can have a reactive personality too, and many sexual sadists are also psychopathic, as some of the case descriptions illustrated. Human behavior is an incredibly complex phenomenon, which requires multifaceted and multidisciplinary examinations of both theoretical and practical perspectives. We believe that this has been amply highlighted throughout this book as we journey the intricacies when personalities, needs, and desires clash in an activating context.
