Professionals that hold this key position had varied backgrounds. CISOs have great responsibility, and 75% note that they also have authority to enforce compliance. On the basis of the data, however, most in government do not. CISOs report the need for multidisciplinary skills in carrying out their duties. Common are information technology (IT) and communication. More than 77% report that business knowledge is critical to the success of their role.
