ABSTRACT

Natural disasters are always dangerous and they have been causing tremendous loss  of life and economic damages globally and frequently. According to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, there were 3867 reported natural disasters that happened between 2004 and 2013. During this period, natural disasters caused approximately 1  million fatalities worldwide, affected approximately 2 billion people, and led to economic losses totaling approximately $1.6 trillion (Cannon et al., 2014). The significant global impact of recurring natural disaster events leads to an increased demand of having comprehensive disaster databases for hazards studies. There are several existing databases, such as the International Disaster Database, ReliefWeb (launched by the United Nations Office
