ABSTRACT

Monitoring, measurement, and review are activities that are used to determine the suitability and adequacy of processes and operations, and how the achievement of effectiveness and efficiency enable the organization to meet it objectives in an uncertain world. The main purpose of monitoring is to generate information needed to ensure that opportunities and threats are managed effectively. The selection of appropriate key performance indicators (KPIs) and measurement methodology is critical to the success of the measurement and analysis process. The process focus category in the performance framework can be used to guide the development of the approach. Three documents are prepared by the organization for each of the performance categories selected to help guide the efforts to attain the level of performance that is sought. These documents include an approach, the means of deploying that approach, and the manner in which the organization will assess and refine the approach and the deployment of the course of the implementation period.
