ABSTRACT

Organizations dealing with banking, insurance, retail, healthcare, and manufacturing across the globe collect large amounts of data about their customers. This is a valuable asset to the organizations as these data can be  mined to extract a lot of insights about their customers. For example, mining these data can throw light on customers’ spending/buying, credit card usage, and investment patterns and health issues, to name a few. This information is used by companies to provide value-added services to their customers, which in turn results in higher revenue and profit. But these data might contain customers’ personal identification information, and when in the hands of a data snooper, they can be exploited.
