ABSTRACT
The failure stresses for bundles of 1000 carbon fibers impregnated in epoxy resin have been given [1–3] and analyzed [1,2,4,5] with the two-parameter Weibull model. The four populations of bundles have sample sizes, SS, and lengths (L): 28 (20 mm), 30 (50 mm), 32 (150 mm), and 29 (300 mm). In Chapter 39, the failure data for the 29 bundles of length, L = 300 mm, will be analyzed. Table 38.1 gives the failure stresses (GPa) for 28 bundles of length, L = 20 mm.
