ABSTRACT

An enduring wicked problem Finding the path toward agricultural landscape sustainability remains a significant challenge in the early twenty-first century. This challenge of reaping economic rewards while sustaining the landscape has long been with humankind. Made famous by Garrett Hardin’s (1968) Tragedy of the Commons essay and noted nearly 2500 years earlier in the writings of Aristotle, society’s answer to landscape sustainability remains unresolved (Waldron, 2004).
