ABSTRACT

Rotor spinning machine makers have attained advanced development in new designs for rotor spindle bearings with low noise levels and low mechanical vibrations. Consequently, the lifespan of the bearing has been prolonged. Based on general results, the new Twin Disc type of bearing can run at high speeds. The central group drive of the rotor spinning machine's rotor consists of a tangential belt. The indirect rotor drive is very similar to the central group drive except that the traditional single-row radial ball bearings of the rotor spindle are replaced by Twin Disc bearings as carriers. The relative merits of the drive are as follows: Low noise levels due to a low number of antifriction bearings plus less masses of moving air. The running cost is reduced due to low maintenance costs and accordingly an increase in the spinning box's productivity.
