ABSTRACT

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is emerging as a leading cause of liver disease globally. The increase in the incidence of NAFLD is closely associated to the epidemic of obesity and its associated metabolic consequences. Recent studies have shown that consumption of coffee can lower the risks associated with a host of chronic conditions including NAFLD. This chapter will focus on the published studies that demonstrate a link between green coffee bean consumption and reduced risks associated with the development of NAFLD.
