ABSTRACT

Abstract: Green polymers have already proven their potential for the development of advanced and effective drug delivery system. They are capable of delivering a wide range of bioactive materials and drugs. Two classes of biodegradable polymers can be distinguished: synthetic and natural polymers. Green polymers have been widely used in drug delivery systems because of their known biocompatibility and biodegradability. The incorporation of drug molecules into nanocarrier can protect a drug against degradation as well as offers possibilities of targeting and controlled release. In comparison to the traditional form of drugs, nanocarrier-drug conjugates are more effective and selective. Various nanostructures, including liposomes, polymers, dendrimers, and carbon nanoparticles, have been tested as carriers in drug delivery systems. However, the on-going research in eld of green nanoparticle will bring clinically useful drug delivery system, improving biocompatibility, drug loading, targeting, transport, release, controlling interaction with biological barriers, detecting and monitoring exposure level, and assessment of the impact on the environment.
