ABSTRACT
This chapter provides a general procedure for designing electrical systems for residential buildings based on the National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements. Step-by-step calculation procedures are outlined with specific examples. Some relevant NEC requirements are highlighted and discussed throughout the chapter. Supporting tables and examples of circuiting diagrams are provided to further showcase the design approach of safe electrical systems for residential buildings including detached homes, apartment units, or multifamily buildings.
