ABSTRACT
The term xanthomatous lesions encompasses a variety of cutaneous manifestations characterized by abnormal intracellular and dermal lipid deposition. They may be signs of different lipoprotein disorders (e.g., familial or secondary dyslipidaemias) or arise without an underlying metabolic disease.
