ABSTRACT
Human skin is not a flat, dimensionless surface. It is traversed by a microstructure network of irregularly geometric-shaped patterns called glyphics. In 1926 Harold Cummins coined the name dermatoglyphics to describe what had previously been referred to as epidermal ridge configurations, or “skin carvings.” 1
