ABSTRACT
The initial history of studies of different lasers on self-contained transitions of metal atoms is reflected in some detail in [1,2]. Therefore, in this chapter attention is given to the history of development of only the repetitively pulsed lasers of this type which is of greatest interest for practical applications.
