ABSTRACT
As discussed, a smart grid may incorporate distributed generation (DG) and cogeneration of energy through solar or wind resources. These may operate in parallel with the legacy grid, as well as independent of it for extended periods, often depending on the source of power and the availability of energy storage systems.
