ABSTRACT

In the careers of many security and crisis management professionals, political crisis presents one of the more difcult challenges. Political crisis can escalate quickly and strike in the middle of the night while many nations and professionals sleep. One singular event, seemingly insigni- cant and perhaps not even noticed, can ignite a country into turmoil and chaos. Political crisis can blow up and quickly vanish from the scene, or it can linger and be present until governments fall and nations are destabilized. And you-you, the intrepid crisis manager-must juggle the objects of mitigation while keeping your eyes rmly focused upon your one main goal: that of life safety.
