ABSTRACT

A business of any size needs to make important decisions all the time. Starting from the neighborhood tea stall to Microsoft and Google, millions of businesses are making billions of decisions every minute and each one of these is having an effect on their performance. If the decision is correct, then the business is likely to make a profit; if not, it is likely to incur a loss. The objective of any business is to make a profit; otherwise it will not be able to survive. Therefore every business strives to make better decisions. How does a business make a decision? How does the neighborhood tea stall make a decision? The proprietor perhaps knows all his clients and their habits and prepares accordingly. How do the businesses that do not know their clients personally take decisions regarding stocks maintained, manpower planning, shipping arrangements and another thousand and one situations?
