ABSTRACT

This chapter introduces some examples of stratified 2×2 $ 2\times 2 $ tables. It explores the general notation and the most common sampling designs. The chapter presents statistical models, effect measures, and effect estimates for stratified 2×2 $ 2\times 2 $ tables. It provides an overview of the different steps in the analyses of stratified tables. The chapter focuses on how to estimate the stratum specific effects with a confidence interval. It considers the Mantel-Haenszel, inverse variance, maximum likelihood, and Peto odds ratio estimates. The chapter also considers the Mantel-Haenszel, inverse variance, maximum likelihood, and Peto odds ratio estimates. It examines some additional methods for meta-analysis. The chapter describes four estimates of the common effect: the Mantel-Haenszel estimate, the inverse variance estimate, the Peto odds ratio estimate, and the maximum likelihood estimate. It demonstrates that three link functions, the linear, log, and logit links.
