ABSTRACT
We first introduced the concept of stress in Chapter 1 in connection with members subjected to axial loads. We also discussed and elaborated further on it in Chapter 2 dealing with torsional members and in Chapter 3 dealing with bending members. Furthermore, in Chapters 2 and 3, we learnt how to deal with the stresses resulting from simple cases of combined loads.
